Despite fierce competition from giants like Samsung and Sony, the best Panasonic TVs are still to be listed in the ranks of some of the most excellent televisions we've seen. Not to mention, the build standards and technical quality of Panasonic sets are still right up there with its high-end peers. You can expect stunning visuals and an array of smart features to rival the best of them.
However, with the rise of those aforementioned brands, Panasonic is often overlooked – and that has just as much to do with the number of models they release as anything else. It could be argued that Panasonic focuses more on its flagship TVs and simplifies choices for consumers with fewer minor variants models to choose from than other brands. Either way, whether you're looking for a huge gaming TV or a budget television for less than £600, the best Panasonic TVs will include the perfect model for you.

Best overall
Our top pick for the best Panasonic TV right now is this TX-55MX800B 55-inch model. It's not an OLED panel, but thanks to Panasonic's stellar picture technology and other bells and whistles, that's not the focus here. What we do have is one of the most comprehensive TV specs out there. Firstly, that LED panel is bright - and that follows through with the brand's own HDR Bright Panel Plus technology. That extra light translates into finer HDR colour separation and refinement. With HDR10+ and Dolby Vision (both at the higher end of the HDR standard), this TV is a treat for the senses when it comes to brightness, contrast and colour.
Plus, this is Fire TV, so you won't find a shortage of apps and other content - especially if you're an Amazon user. And of course, being a Fire TV, you get Alexa included for voice assistant functionality. Sound comes courtesy of Dolby Atmos for surround effects, and to top it all off it'll support a variable refresh rate and Game Mode for seamless, lag-free gaming. Just an awesome all-round package on offer here.
Pros
- Extra bright picture and great HDR response thanks to Bright Panel Plus tech
- Wide HDR support with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ for over a billion colours
- Amazon Fire TV OS means access to plenty of streaming content through a great UI
Cons
- The screen is good, but cinema purists may still want an OLED panel

Best budget
It might be said that any 43-inch TV is a bit of a budget-buy. And normally, that wouldn't be too far from the truth. However, this isn't just another small-ish TV - it's a Panasonic TX-43MX610B. And, naturally, that means it's packed with the company's best tech. 43 inches is a brilliant size choice if you're looking for something that is still comfortable to view from a distance, but not so big as it hogs the room.
Here we have all of the top-line support for HDR – including Dolby Vision – and loads of apps and streaming content. Again, there's surround sound from Dolby Atmos, and that panel is super-bright, making it a good choice for viewing in brighter rooms. You have your choice between Alexa and Google Assistant for voice control and low-latency mode for gamers. All that for a lot less than £400? We're amazed too.
Pros
- Great, practical size for most spaces – a TV that won't hog the room
- Dolby Atmos for all-enveloping sound immersion
- A lot of high-tech Panasonic goodness for a small price – including some gamer-friendly modes
Cons
- Definitely invest in a soundbar if you like big sound

Best budget 65-inch
Despite its reasonable price point, Panasonic's TX-65MX650B doesn't lack clever post-processing software, gorgeous detailed images and excellent build quality. This is yet another Panasonic television bursting with Dolby-optimised picture, along with some HDR goodness, the TX-65MX650B is simply excellent at its price - with natural images looking the best and brighter whites not being quite as crisp as a full-fledged QLED television as you'd expect.
Design-wise, the TX-65MX650B is slim and solid. The screen bezel is narrow, the stand is wide, yet thin and minimalistic - it's a design that brings the best out of the screen. Looks aside, there are one or two nitpicks for us with the TX-65MX650B- namely, its user interface and panel tech. The OS is AndroidTV which, in our opinion, is a little lacking compared to some other brands. An OLED panel would have been nice-to-have, but considering the budget price we're happy with LED. Yet, besides these minor points, Panasonic's TX-65MX650B is a television we wholeheartedly recommend for its size and the raft of features inside.
Pros
- Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support give you the best vision and sound tech
- Plenty of connectivity to keep you streaming and watching thanks to wifi and plenty of HDMI ports
- Wonderfully designed – think and light for such a large screen
Cons
- AndroidTV user interface drags the overall experience down a little

Best with Amazon Fire TV
Panasonic does, of course, have other TVs in its range that come with Amazon Fire TV OS - but this one takes the crown here due to its size. Sharing most of the features of its smaller cousins, like Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision and HDR, this 2023 model is a whopping 65 inches. We think this is the ideal size for a well-proportioned lounge and will quickly become the centrepiece of the home for all Amazon Prime subscribers.
What better screen to enjoy all those streaming and on-demand shows and movies on – like The Boys, Gen V, Fargo, or Reacher. And of course you still have access to Netflix, Disney+ and other leading subscription services. Game Mode ensures that this is a fully capable 64-inch TV that won't fail to impress.
Pros
- Enjoy Fire TV and Amazon Prime Video on a screen that's truly cinematic
- Fantastic HDR support and sound from Dolby for the maximum 4K vision and sound experience
- Fire TV OS is intuitive and responsive
Cons
- Not an OLED panel (but, for the money, that's to be expected)

Best for gaming
Perhaps one of the best gaming televisions on the market right now, Panasonic's TX- 55MZ700B is spectacular in everything from design, to picture quality and, of course, response times. Along with Game Mode and of course, that gorgeous 4K OLED screen, this Panasonic television is mind-blowing for gamers. Starting with that 120hz OLED screen, you can enjoy unparalleled black levels, shadows and sheer contrast. You can bet this will make those night-time scenes in your favourite horror games just that much more intense and realistic.
As for the Panasonic 55MZ700B's design, it certainly doesn't disappoint – the screen is only millimetres thick at its thinnest point - giving the screen a refreshingly ultra-modern look. Dolby Atmos, low latency mode and VRR will keep your gaming sessions running smoothly and responsively. Gamers, cinephiles and television binge-watchers alike will be hard-pushed to find a better 4K OLED gaming television.
Pros
- Breathtaking OLED screen – richer colours, deeper blacks and great contrast
- Important low-latency and variable refresh rate means your gaming with be smooth and judder-free
- Super-thin modern design fits with your game room
Cons
- If you're a gamer who likes cinematic sound, the speakers here are a little weak – invest in a soundbar

Best 48-inch
The star feature here is, naturally, that gorgeous OLED screen. While we normally recommend OLEDs on TVs with larger screens, we think that 48 inches is a brilliant size for most living rooms - and just because it's not a 65-incher doesn't mean it hasn't got some serious tech inside.
Panasonic has ensured that this TV is brimming with cutting-edge picture enhancement features and smart TV functionality. The enhanced colour range is there with several flavours of HDR, including Dolby Vision. Surround sound comes from Dolby Atmos for immersion, and the TV refresh rate here is a smooth 120Hz; that means that serious cinema fans, sports fans and gamers will be wowed as they watch or play. Game Mode Extreme tailors the TV to gaming for low latency and more, and you even get Google Assistant for voice control. All inside a 48-inch set. Amazing stuff.
Pros
- Incredible OLED visuals – if you want a breathtaking picture with gorgeous colour and contrast, this is it
- Solid sound thanks to decent internal speakers and Dolby Atmos
- 120Hz support for gaming for smooth and detailed motion
Cons
- Menu and user interface are a little dull compared to others

Best small Panasonic TV
Small TVs from major brands are few and far between these days, much to the lament of those who have very small bedrooms, kitchens (or even caravans) to put them in. Thankfully, Panasonic is still looking after you here - with this 24-inch model. It's super-affordable too, even with the Panasonic brand and build quality attached. What you won't find is 4K, OLED or anything else from the rest of the line-up - this is fine in our book; features like that are a little wasted on a screen the size of a small tabloid.
But let's look at what this can bring to your small space: 720p (half HD) resolution, HDR, Surround Sound, a headphone out socket, HDMI port and it's even wall-mountable. If you have movies on a USB stick, the port on the TV-24S50AEY will play back those files too. Best of all, it even as Smart functionality, meaning as long as you have an internet connection you can stream all your favourites and not be left with just what's on the built-in Freeview.
Pros
- Small enough to slot into almost any space at home, or in a caravan or motorhome
- Built-in Freeview and Smart functionality so you can watch what you want with no fuss
- USB stick playback gives you flexibility if you need to use this without an aerial or if you want to take your movies and shows away with you in a holiday setting
Cons
- Large bezels around the edge of the screen
Screen size | 24 inches |
Other sizes | N/A |
Screen type | LCD (HD Ready) |
Refresh Rate | 60Hz |
HDMI ports | x 2 |
HDR | HDR10, HLG |
Audio | 2 x 2.5W |
Smart assistant | Amazon Alexa |
Dimensions | 334 x 553 x 63 mm (without stand) |
Weight | 3.6 kg |
Best 75-inch
At the pinnacle of the size tree for the MX800B series is this 75-inch TX-75MX800B. So, much like its siblings, this has the same array of tech features. But let's examine how that 4K LED panel and its image enhancement capabilities translate onto 75 inches of screen real estate. Well, in short, it's stunning. Of course, any larger screen will always have an impact - but here the inclusion of Panasonic's multi-HDR support, HDR Bright Panel Plus technology for brighter images, and Dolby Atmos for sound make for a truly cinematic experience.
And the price? Well, it's the best and one of the most affordable 75-inch TVs out there. While we would (of course) love to have this in an OLED format, the 4K LED panel is excellent, and that brings this in at just over the £1k mark. Astonishing for the money.
However, the only downside we can see with 75-inch TVs is just that - the sheer size and scale of the device. If you're thinking about a TV this big, always factor in the comfortable viewing distance. It may hang on your wall, but can you sit and watch it comfortably? If you can, you're in for a jaw-dropping televisual treat.
Pros
- The biggest screen from Panasonic for the money – this is truly colossal
- Supports various HDR standards, including the best of them right now
- Bright Panel Plus technology means this can perform well in brighter rooms, as well as make images pop
Cons
- Again, this isn't an OLED panel (but that's fine for the price)
Screen size | 75 inches |
Other sizes | 50, 55, 65 inches |
Screen type | LED-LCD (IPS panel) |
Refresh Rate | 60Hz |
HDMI ports | x 3 (including 1 HDMI 2.1 with VRR and HFR 120Hz) |
HDR | HDR10+, HDR10, HLG, Dolby Vision |
Audio | 2 x 20W speakers with Dolby Atmos |
Smart assistant | Amazon Alexa built-in |
Dimensions | 1673 x 1036 x 365 mm (with stand) |
Weight | 31.5 kg |
Best Panasonic TVs of 2024: Buyer's guide
Choose based on screen size first
No matter what brand of TV you're a fan of, size has to come top of the list when making your choice. Beyond the simple fact that it'll need to fit into your space, you'll also need to be able to sit a sensible distance from the screen. So, hanging a 75-inch TV from your wall might work – but it'll be hard to watch if your room is narrow. You need to be well over 6 feet from the screen to really enjoy a TV that large.
Decide what you like to use your TV for the most
If you're a casual soap and news channel watcher, you're less likely to want or miss features like 120hz refresh rates and to top OLED screens. Why? Because those features really only make a difference to serious gaming and movie fans. So, instead, you'll want to look carefully at the user interface and app selection – ensuring that your favourite channels are all present.
And, if you are into movies, we recommend OLED or the latest QLED panels. Look out for a high number of local dimming zones on the latter, as that will work to keep the blacks almost as inky as the OLED alternative while retaining maximum brightness. Movie fans will, of course, also love 4K and HDR (High Dynamic Range – that means over a billion extra colours).
More of a gamer? Then you'll gravitate towards the same or similar to the movie fan – but you should look for extras like dedicated gaming modes that offer lower latency - and of course, 120Hz refresh rates with variable (VRR) options. VRR will also help all games look smooth and detailed regardless of their frame rates. Other gaming features like ALLM will reduce motion tearing and other gamer bugbears.
