Apple is one of the best-known brands in the world, loved by many for its intuitive, user-friendly products. And it holds an incredibly dominant position in the smartphone and smartwatch market. Having cultivated a reputation for building premium devices, and having successfully driven such incredible demand for those products, Apple is one of very few companies that rarely needs to discount its products to deliver good sales figures. Which is exactly why this Apple Watch Series 9 deal on Amazon Prime Day is one of the best I’ve seen.

The Apple Watch Series 9

Let’s start with the watch itself. Apple Watches are among the best smartwatches on the market. And if you own an iPhone, then the seamless integration that the Apple Watch offers makes it an even better proposition. While other devices, such as the best Garmin watches and the best Fitbits can also connect with an iPhone, the process is nowhere near as simple as pairing two Apple devices together. For anyone who likes an easy life (and if you already own Apple products, you know what I mean) the Apple Watch makes life about as simple as it gets.

But it isn’t just about seamless connectivity with your existing Apple hardware. The Apple Watch Series 9 also offers one of the best smartwatch experiences on the market, with thousands of apps available via the App Store, the ability to make and receive calls on the wrist, contactless payments, Siri voice assistant, and much more. The double tap gesture control is a cool – and useful – function, which makes using the watch even easier when your hands are full.

The Apple Watch Series 9 also offers a host of health and fitness tracking tools that make this an exceptionally good all-round device. Heart rate and ECG, blood oxygen, sleep, menstrual cycle, activity tracking and calorie expenditure can all be monitored by this watch.

There are also loads of different activities that can be tracked, including, walking, running, cycling, yoga, and swimming. Built-in GPS means the watch is extremely accurate when tracking your movements. For fitness fanatics, it even integrates seamlessly with Apple Fitness+, Apple’s on-demand workout platform. Did I mention that it’s seamless?

Finally, features such as fall and crash detection add an extra element of safety for you when you’re wearing it. It’s an extremely polished and well-rounded device, that I happily recommend to any iPhone user looking for a smartwatch.

Why is this a good deal?

It’s pretty unusual to see Apple products discounted. So, to get the Apple Watch Series 9 on offer for £314, as opposed to its usual RRP of £399, is a huge saving of over 20 per cent. I’ve never seen this particular model (the 41mm, Wi-Fi variant) available for less than £344 before, which makes this an absolute steal for anyone who wants to buy an Apple Watch.

Remember, remember the Watch in September

If you are in the market for an Apple Watch, remember a newer model will almost certainly appear before the end of the year, most likely being unveiled in September. That said, it means you'd be waiting several months before the next one comes out. And it will likely be as – or more – expensive than the full-priced Apple Watch Series 9. So, if you don’t need the newest model, and you want a new smartwatch sooner rather than later, this deal is almost as good as it gets.
