Camera: Olympus OM-D E-M1 MkII

"I’ve been using the E-M1 MkII since it first came out at the end of 2016. It’s a rugged, pro spec camera that’s weather-resistant (essential for many of the environments I work in) and, with a 20MP sensor, capable of producing wonderful quality images that I’ve happily printed to 30x20in. The image stabilisation system also enables me to get sharp images in situations where using a tripod is impossible, such as from the deck of a moving ship or on board an inflatable boat in Antarctica."

Zoom lens: Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-100mm f/4 IS PRO

"The 12-100mm zoom is my go-to travel lens with a useful focal range from wide-angle to telephoto and a weatherproof design. Combined with the E-M1 MkII it was my most-used optic in Antarctica. I’ve used all the Olympus primes and all the Pro zooms and the quality has never disappointed, yet the 12-100mm seems to be a step up again. I’d say that at f/8 or f/11 it’s the sharpest Olympus lens I’ve used giving crisp, detail-rich images."
