After all of the hints, speculation, rumours, and just plain wishful thinking, Nintendo has dropped a Direct gaming showcase dedicated to Mario’s 35th Anniversary. At over 15-minutes in length, there are many announcements packed in here that are sure to please fans of the Japanese gaming giant the world over. These include limited edition Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros handheld console, multiplayer games, real-world Mario Kart adventures, and plenty of memorabilia.
Yet, all of this pales into significance in the shadow of the final announcement: Mario 3D All-Stars. This game collection brings together three of Mario’s greatest three-dimensional outings into one, polished and optimised package.
Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy will all be arriving on the Switch as of September 18, 2020.
The kicker here is that the game, both physical and digital, will be limited release, available only between September 18, 2020 and March 31, 2021. The game will still work after this date, and those who opt for the eShop download will still be able to redownload the game.
Head over to the Nintendo eShop now to pre-order Mario 3D All-Stars for £49.99, or head to the UK’s Nintendo Store to see the other celebratory swag and pre-order the physical edition, also for £49.99.
