Razer has announced the Razer Blade 14, the first-ever Razer Blade gaming laptop to carry an AMD CPU - the Ryzen 9 5900HX.

The Razer Blade 14 starts at only £1,799.99. Available now via Razer.

Razer wasted no time at its E3 2021 keynote, spending time talking through the Razer Blade 14 and how its stacks up against its rivals. Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan hosted the show, stating that the laptop is “a decade” ahead of its competition.

A “14-inch powerhouse”, the Razer Blade 14 also carries a GPU with the oomph to match the CPU. The new gaming laptop is available with either the NVIDIA RTX 3060, RTX 3070 or RTX 3080. The RTX 3080 is the most exciting prospect, carrying NVIDIA’s 2nd-gen RTX architecture which allows for improved performance and smooth ray-tracing.

There is a choice of screens, too: FHD 144Hz with 100% SRGB, or QHD 165Hz 100% with DCI-P3. Both screens are IPS panels.

The aluminium CNC case is here, and it is indeed thin. The entire laptop measures in at just 0.66 x 8.66 x 12.59 inches. Tucked inside here, alongside all the powerful tach, is the Vapor Chamber cooling system - a newly designed technology from Razer that features hair-thick fan blades.

As a Razer product, there are no prizes for guessing that the keyboard is thoroughly game-orientated and carries per-key Chroma. The battery life runs for up to 12 hours.

Presented only as a backdrop to the laptop advertisement, Razer placed a quick table up on the screen showing how the new Razer 14 stacks up against its obvious rival, the ASUS G14:
