Rainbow Six Extraction was the first game showcased in the Ubisoft Forward E3 2021 presentation.
The walkthrough gameplay trailer talks us through how a co-op team works together to outsmart the alien threat. We also get a look at some of the player classes, new weapons and tech.
Rainbow Six Extraction is available on September 16, 2021, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Stadia, Epic Games and Ubisoft Connect. Available for pre-order now.
Rainbow Six Extraction was announced in 2019 as Rainbow Six Quartine - it's been renamed for obvious reasons. The new name as confirmed on June 7 is a Ubisoft Dev Team video.
Talking at the Ubisoft Forward before the gameplay trailer, it was confirmed that Rainbow Six Extraction is an experience for 1-3 player. Players will venture into contamination zones in Alaska, New York and San Francisco to face the procedurally evolving alien threat.
While some of the game mechanics will be familiar to Rainbow Six Siege, though Extraction doubles down on cooperation. This includes an ‘operative M.I.A’ mechanic, which appears to be a situation where a teammate is overrun by alien hostels and requires coordinate rescue.

Players can level up and upgrade their arsenals, though death or going M.I.A risks the gains being taken away. According to the hosts of Ubisoft Forward, this makes the game a test of balancing risk and reward.
Rainbow Six Extraction will support cross-play. Players of Rainbow Six Seige will receive special in-game bonuses and exclusive unlocks for downloading Extraction, in both Siege and Extraction.
