Parkers– the definitive resource for car buying advice in the UK – has partnered with What’s The Best to bring you the award for the Best Small Van in the prestigious Parkers New Car Awards 2022. The winner is the Toyota Proace City, and it is one of a total of 20 award winners revealed today (27 September) by Parkers.
The Proace City is an excellent van that we’ve singled out because Toyota has introduced a new 10-year warranty programme called Relax to support you after purchase. This sets the Proace City apart from its closest rivals, which only offer three years of cover, and we feel Relax adds an extra layer of reassurance that’s likely to be important to tradespeople and businesses as the country continues to deal with life after the Coronavirus pandemic. A deserving winner for Toyota.
Parkers van and pickup editor CJ Hubbard said, "While the Proace City is closely related to three other excellent vehicles in the small van sector, Toyota’s new Relax 10-year warranty programme is a genius move to make its offering stand out from all the rest. Combine that with the growing Toyota Professional dealership network and for us, there was only one winner."
It finishes ahead of the mechanically-identical Citroen Berlingo, Peugeot Partner and Vauxhall Combo triplets, as well as the new Volkswagen Caddy Cargo.
The winning van has been tested rigorously by the Parkers.co.uk team, which judged the best small vans on a combination of value, quality, reliability, cost-per-month on finance deals and fitness-for-purpose.
Keith Adams, Parkers.co.uk editor, added: "In this year’s New Car Awards, we’re excited to have come up with such an interesting selection of winners. We’ve taken what we know about what our users are viewing on Parkers, with the team’s combined 100+ years of editorial expertise. We’re more than happy to our winners – they’re all part of a brilliant line-up of cars."
Now in its fifth year, the Parkers New Car Awards 2022 continue to reflect the views of Britain’s car-buying public, with winners decided by a combination of the site’s expert reviewers’ verdicts in thousands of miles of road testing and the purchasing habits of the website’s 2.3+ million users actively involved in the buying process.
