Apple has announced macOS Monterey at the WWDC 2021 conference, the next operating system for Apple Macs.
While there is sure to be more news to come about the all-new macOS Monterey, here’s what we know so far.
Universal Control is a feature that allows a Mac and iPad to work together easily. It allows a keyboard and mouse to work seamlessly across the devices, including a drag-and-drop feature for quick file sharing. This feature is not unlike Logitech Flow, a feature we’ve tried (and enjoyed) previously with the MX Master 3.
Safari is receiving a makeover with macOS Monterey. Keeping its low-power credentials, the internet browser is getting a productivity boost via new features, including a new tab bar and organisation system.
Users of iPhones will already be familiar with the Shortcuts app - well, it’s heading to Mac, too. This app will allow users to set up automation as the Automator app is slowly phased out over the coming years. Anyone who uses Automator will be able to import schedules and routines over to the new platform.
AirPlay is also finding its way to Mac desktops as AirPlay for Mac. This allows users to play music from their iPhone on a Mac.
