Amazon’s Kindle Paperwhite is one of the best e-readers on the market, and it’s now available in two new colours. The new options, Plum and Sage, brings the total available colours up to four, including the original black design and Twilight Blue. These new pastel shades see the Paperwhite line up with the all-new Fire HD 8 tablet range, which also offers these finishes.

It’s unlikely that a spate of Paperwhite purchases will be inspired on the back of these new colours alone, but their introduction has reminded us of the device’s many strengths. Like its standard Kindle cousin, the Kindle Paperwhite has a 6-inch glare-free front-lit screen, with a high-resolution pixel density that’s nearly twice that of the base Kindle model. This upgraded screen makes the text incredibly crisp.

Another feather in the Paperwhite's cap is its waterproofing, which makes it ideal for the bath and poolside reader (or the one who gets teary at the romantic bits). You can even seamlessly between reading and listening, thanks to the Audible integration.

There are two memory options, 8GB or 32GB, allowing a lot more space for those who want a more varied reading experience through magazines, audiobooks, and e-books. For a higher price, an option is available with 4G connection in addition to the standard WiFi, so you can get the latest releases no matter where you are.

The Amazon Kindle Paperwhite is available to order now in Black, Plum, Sage, and Twilight Blue.
