The Logitech G Pro X LIGHTSPEED has been announced, cutting the cables on the well-regarded Pro X headset.
According to a Logitech G press released received by What’s The Best, the new PRO headset brings “pro-grade LIGHTSPEED wireless technology to an award-winning design that's built to the exacting specifications of the world’s elite esports professionals.”
The new headset takes the pre-existing Pro X headset as a foundation and packs in Logitech’s 2.5 GHz LIGHTSPEED wireless technology. According to Logitech, this gamer-specific tech offers a wireless connection that is faster than many wired connections available from its competitors. While we haven’t done any in-depth testing to verify these claims ourselves, our own experience would suggest that this is indeed the case.
One of the reservations many players have about wireless headsets is the issue of audio latency, which can, in certain circumstances, have the visuals and audio falling out of synchronisation. The LIGHTSPEED connection should, in theory, right this wrong with ease.

The Pro X LIGHTSPEED headset will also have a 20-hour battery life. All of this power will be available to the player for audio too, as, courtesy of the headsets understated design, there’s no RGB lighting to drain on lifespan.
