Phil Spencer, the VP of Microsoft Gaming, suggested in his Game Live keynote that the Xbox Series X's launch will be supported by Xbox All Access. Spencer stated the following:

“Xbox All Access is going to be critical to both our launch for Xbox Series X as well as just the overall generation” (via Games Industry).

Despite Spencer’s cautious discussion of the program’s availability on the new console, the Xbox website has confirmed it, adding a section to the Access plan’s page detailing how to upgrade to the Xbox Series X.

Xbox All Access is a monthly subscription plan that allows gamers to pick up an Xbox console and 24 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. This plan helps to spread the cost of a console, effectively working as a credit finance plan, and provides access to hundreds of free downloadable titles via the Game Pass.

Microsoftis likely keen to continue the plan as a method of attracting budget-conscious consumers that may hesitate at the price tag attached to the next-gen consoles. While no official price has been announced, the general internet chatter places the Xbox Series X between £400 and £500.

Currently, subscribers can pick up an Xbox One S, Xbox One S All-Digital, or Xbox One X as part of the plan.

Subscribers will be offered the option to upgrade to the Series X, “after the equivalent of 18 payments.” The process of upgrading would include the subscriber trading in their existing console at the retailer partner facilitating the subscription plan. In the UK, these are GAMEand Smyths Store.

There is currently no indication as to whether the Xbox Series X will have a plan of its own, not linked to pre-existing All Access subscriptions.
