Herman Miller has teamed up with Logitech G to release what is sure to be one of the most interesting, and most expensive gaming chairs on the market today. The Embody Gaming Chair promises to deliver a comprehensive ergonomic seating position, keeping the player comfortable and cool. Seemingly this care for player constitution doesn’t stretch to the price tag, with the chair clocking in at a sweat-inducing £1,195.

When you consider that budget options start around £120, and high-end premium gaming chairs from the likes of Noblechairs and Secretlab typically land between £300 - £500, it’s clear that the Herman Miller X Logitech G collaboration is not aiming for the everyman gamer.

Though the marketing lingo surrounding the chair is nothing out of the ordinary, the two companies have taken some significant steps that are unmatched elsewhere in the marketplace. The Embody chair was originally designed in consultation with specialists in physical therapy, ergonomics and biomechanics, before Logitech was brought on board to reveal the seating habits of today’s contemporary gamer.

The fruits of this widespread collaboration come in five forms. The first is the enhanced gaming seat, reinforced to support the upright position taken by gamers during play. The second is copper-infused foam, an innovation that helps keep temperatures equitable. The third is spinal support, the forth is adjustable backing that moulds to a spine's natural curve, and the fifth is a pressure distributor that spreads the sitter's weight evenly across the seat.

Comprehensive, but far from the only comfort-improving additions. Seat depth and height are all here as standard too, just with the exquisite touches expected from a Herman Miller chair.

The chair makes big promises much going forward, too. The warranty covers 12-years of 24-hour usage, and at the end of its life, 96% of its components can be recycled.

So, this is more than just an office chair with a bucket seat and racing stripes.
