Physical exercise is always of great importance, and in this period of lockdown, reduced movement, and the increased prevalence of working from home, its importance has only increased. While it’s great to simply lose yourself in exercise, it can be equally as rewarding to gain a little insight into your performance.
If you’re looking to start tracking your workout, or upgrading your current solution, then now is the ideal time. Amazon is currently offering savings of up to 53% on Garmin’s wearable fitness tracker range – in particular, the watches.
Garmin’s fitness watches can track a number of sporting activities, including gentle countryside walks to marathon training runs, indoor and outdoor cycling, swimming, yoga, and much more besides. The data collected can give you an insight into your performance, letting you know how well you’ve performed, how much your fitness has increased, and potentially offering professional advice on ways to take your training to the next level.
Here are two of our favourites from the Garmin brand that are currently in Amazon’s Summer Sale:
The Garmin Forerunner 45 GPS Running Watch is a particular favourite of ours. Currently available in Black or Lava Red, the Forerunner 45 boasts a whole host of easy-to-use features, including heart rate monitor, pace and distance tracking, and both indoor and outdoor activity tracking. This means that whether you are running cross-country or having a yoga session at home, the health benefits will be fully recorded. The Garmin Coach app is an excellent fitness companion too, with adaptive training plans and feedback being accessible right from the wrist. The Forerunner 45 will connect to smartphones for notification display and, most impressively of all, use its inbuilt safety and tracking features to detect incidents, calling emergency services with a real-time location.

It might be stating a little lightly to describe the Garmin Vivoactive 3 Smartwatch GPS Tracker as comprehensibly equipped. Like the wider Garmin range, the watch hosts a heart rate monitor, location tracker, and indoor and outdoor workout tracking. The Vivoactive also includes a VO2 Max and Fitness Age feedback, allowing the user to gain an insight into their current fitness level and overall progress. There’s even a stress monitoring feature, which alert the user to when emotional and physical pressure is beginning to affect the body, and can guide timed relaxation techniques. The smartphone capability of the watch allows for smartphone connection, text notifications, and text responses. Additional apps can be downloaded from the Garmin Connect IQ store, providing access to AccuWeather, Uber, Spotify, Strava, and a Hydration Tracker, amongst much, much more.
