It's safe to say that the Summer Game Fest kickoff event has started strong. As well as having the one and only Hideo Kojima in for a surprise interview, it was announced that there would be a new instalment of Death Stranding, titled Death Stranding Director's Cut.
Throughout the interview, Kojima explained how he has had to "re-think" his creative process and "adapt and think of new ways of creating" for producing video games due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
When it comes to producing video games, Kojima has stated that with every game he creates he wants to give the player "something to learn" and "wants to put societal elements as a base of the game" all whilst making it entertaining.
Death Stranding is a critically acclaimed titles, and has made it into two of our gaming rundowns: the best PC games and best sci-fi games.
In relation to the Death Stranding Director's Cut, the audience was shown a quick trailer, which took place in what appeared to be a well-guarded storage hanger in a cave.
The trailer was filled with a couple of MGS references, as the protagonist, played by Norman Reedus, at one point hides in a box, echoing Solid Snake's espionage adventures. Watch the official trailer here:
Unfortunately, we were not given a date for when the game will be released, but we do know that it will be available on PS5 and it will be available "soon". So keep your eyes peeled, and soon enough you'll be able to be playing Death Stranding Directors Cut.
