Recently, What's The Best's resident Ninty fan William Lobley had the chance to try out Snakebyte’s Games for the Nintendo Switch. An all-in-one storage unit of sorts, the tower has several features that make it an appealing choice for the gamer with a limited amount of space.

First up, it’ll hold 10 Switch games. Don’t go thinking you can jam an extra one somewhere, as the fit is tight and accurate. Units for stacking games are a common sight and have been for some while now. To ensure its offering has a little more to give customers, Snakebyte has added three additional features: game controller hooks, a storage drawer and a new home for the Switch dock.

The controller hooks are a certifiable Good Idea for Switch owners, as the console is home to a wide array of top-tier multiplayer and party games. Additional controllers are always a bother when not in use, so the hooks make it easy to keep unused controllers neat until needed.

The hooks on the left side are deeper than the right, allowing for two Switch Pro controllers to sit comfortably. The top Pro controller can be recharged in this position, though sadly there’s not quite enough room for the bottom controller to have a USB connection. The right side hooks are just right for the standard JoyCon Comfort Grip.

The bottom drawer only measures about 3.5cm deep, but it's capable of taking a few USB cables, a cartridge holder, or even a few loose JoyCons or similar third-party controllers. You're not going to want to be using it multiple times a day though, because it isn’t the smoothest of processes. It requires a little tug that can easily knock down one or two of the hooked controllers. It's not a terminal failing, but it can be tedious if you’re in a rush.

The final feature is the top slot, which allows the Nintendo Switch’s dock to click into place. Before I tried it I was sceptical, but it looks pretty good; the hold is secure and it's freed up some space around our TV (just in time for the Xbox Series X and PS5, neither of which are concerned about saving space). The Games isn't top-heavy either, remaining well balanced even with the Switch docked and carrying large Pro-style grips.

While Snakebyte isn’t alone in offering this kind of multifaceted storage solution, the Games is certainly one of the most appealing, especially considering the price point.
