Recent times have been unpredictable for many reasons. One of the more favourable unprecedented events has been a particular surprise - the rise of Among Us, a strange little indie title from developer InnerSloth.
Among Us launched in 2018 and went unnoticed. There were a few dedicated followers, but the game was a flop. Jump to mid-2020, and this unknown status quickly changed. It has remained a popular game well into 2021, and now 2022.

Streamers who were looking for an interesting party-style game to play during lockdown picked it up. The tricksy and conspiratorial nature of Among Us struck a chord with audiences, and the downloads began to increase exponentially. The rest is (very recent and ongoing) history.
Downloads have seen exponential growth across Steam and mobile stores, rising into the millions. It appears the time for Among Us has arrived - it feels like it was made for the Twitch and Discord generation, and has certainly provided countless hours of joy (and betrayal) for gamers.
