The HONOR MagicBook 14 is a laptop that packs a fair amount into its tiny, lightweight shell. Ideal for students and those looking for a fast, this slimline laptop is great for everyday tasks, and it does have some impressive specs for professionals and occasional casual gamers.
Budget-friendly but with a luxury look and feel, the bright display, 'Eye Comfort', intuitive tracking pad and super-long battery life, make it a commuter's dream.
Quick to power up, the MagicBook 14 comes with Windows 10 built-in (upgradable to Windows 11) and once set up, can be activated with just your fingerprint, much like a MacBook. The 65W type-C charger can deliver close to 50% of the battery life in just 30 minutes, and a fully charged battery should last you a full workday with ease.
The Dolby Atmos-certified speakers are seriously impressive, probably some of the best for this price, and although the screen is clear and crisp in an office setting, it struggles to perform in bright light and outdoors.
If you have an HONOR or Huawei phone running EMUI 9.0 or Magic UI 2.0 or later, you can use Honor Magiclink to pair your smartphone with the laptop, which allows you to transfer files, take calls, create an instant hotspot and more.
The only thing that lets it down is the placement of the webcam - it's set in the keyboard itself and pops up, which is great for security, but terrible if you actually want to enjoy the way you look on camera.

A deeper look at the HONOR MagicBook 14
What's to love?
The design, look and feel of the MagicBook 14 are wonderful - it's slim, lightweight and perfect for commuting. The 'Mystic Silver' and 'Space Gray' make it feel luxurious, and the trackpad and keyboard are smooth and comfortable.
The speakers are fantastic, as is the screen under normal office lighting conditions.
What's okay?
If you wanted to take your laptop outside for the afternoon or are somewhere with really bright lights, the screen can be a little dim. The 8GB RAM will be ideal for working, browsing the internet and streaming, but will struggle to handle some games.
Any negatives?
The placement of the camera, while brilliant for peace of mind when it comes to security, is really unflattering. It's situated along the top row of the keyboard and pops out at an upward angle when in use.
