The Logitech StreamCam is a webcam that aims towards streaming and YouTube-style content-creation. It's able to capture footage at 1080p/60fps, while Logitech’s smart in-built tech takes care of the brightness, focus and exposure. If you like, it will even track your face to make sure you’re always front and centre of the video. You can also orientate the StreamCam for vertical image capture, which is perfect for social media posts.
The audio capture can be set to stereo or mono and provides consistent clarity for both the loudest and quietest of speakers. It’s also worth noting the mount can be removed and replaced with a tripod (not included) for an alternate angle on proceedings.
The camera is compatible with Logitech Capture, a well-presented suite that allows for the camera’s FPS and resolution parameters to be set, in addition to facilitating recording and implementing various effects. You can also set this app as a source for other video software and programs.
Here’s what we said when we reviewed the StreamCam: “Thanks to the combination of quality camera, microphones and AI automatic adjustment, the StreamCam makes it incredibly simple to capture broadcast-ready footage.”

The headline here is that the Logitech Brio is capable of a hugely impressive 4K/30fps performance. This will be music to the ears of content creators who, when using the Brio with suites like XSplit Broadcaster, OBS, and SwiftCapture, will be able to record footage at this high level. When it comes to streaming, users will be able to knock the resolution down to 1080p or 720p at 60fps, providing a silky smooth experience for viewers. The five-times zoom and adjustable FOV helps to add versatility here too.
The Brio’s HDR ensures that the auto-levels are always on point, and the two mics provide great audio coverage. However, if you’re going all out with 4K recording, it’s worth your time picking up a dedicated stream-worthy external mic.
It’s important to note that the majority of video call services do not support 4K UHD resolution. You'll still be able to use the Brio on these programs, but any video above 1080p will be downscaled automatically. While this does limit the appeal of this camera, it doesn’t matter, because this is a camera for the content creators, video editors and online personalities looking to level up the quality of their output.

What is FPS?
Frames per second, also known as FPS, is a measurement used to reference how many images are used per second to create footage. For example, 30fps means that 30 individual images are being shown, back-to-back, every second, thus creating the on-screen action. The more frames there are, the more of these images are shown and the smoother a video appears.
Low FPS rates result in a video that appears to stutter, jump or jolt. So, for your webcam, the higher the fps of your camera, the better the video for viewers.
What is the field of view and why does it matter?
The field of view, or FOV, is a measurement that tells us how much of a room will be visible from the lens. Referred to by degrees and angles, higher angles mean more area coverage. The below image shows the difference between a webcam with 90-degree FOV and one with a 60-degree FOV, with the green representing what is captured:
For the viewer, the difference is similar to that between older 4:3 television sets and wide-screen. This is important because it lets you know how much of a room, or how many people in a group, can be seen by the camera. Larger angles are also better for those who are presenting a distance from the webcam.
