Jack Barrell - What's the Best

The Anker MagGo Wireless Charging Station is a foldable 3-in-1 solution, designed for convenient charging of multiple devices. It's sleek and effective, offering a space-saving design that effortlessly charges your phone, earbuds, and smartwatch simultaneously. This is great for iPhone charging, but having AirPods and an Apple Watch will mean you get your full money's worth.

Digital Writer Jack Barrell has personal exprience with this Anker charger, here are his thoughts: "This 3-in-1 charger from Anker is a time saver and a space saver. It was quite therapeutic saying farewell to having seperate chargers for each device, instead, charging all my key tech on one unit.

"The lightning charging is still there too. Yes, charging all three items simultaneously is always going to take longer than charging one at a time, but I never found it to be that significant here. It might be a fixed station while it's charging, but this thing easily folds up for when I was ever on the move as well. All in all, Anker gets a lot right here."

  • Ideal simultaneous charging
  • Handy foldable design makes transporting it anywhere effortless
  • Powerfully reliable

  • Users seeking portable 3-in-1 charging would benefit more from a power bank

FAQs

USB-C or USB-A?

USB-C connections have far surpassed USB-A, marking a pivotal shift towards more efficient technology. While many larger devices still feature USB-A ports, the momentum is decidedly shifting towards USB-C for its superior capabilities.

When it comes to transferring data and charging devices, USB-C connections are in a league of their own. Where USB-A connections typically max out at 12 watts, USB-C connections can deliver an impressive 100 watts or more.

Another advantage of USB-C is its user-friendly reversible design, eliminating the all-too-common frustration of repeatedly flipping a connector to fit it in. Gone are the days of the USB-A shuffle, trying multiple times to insert it the right way.

For Apple enthusiasts, the lightning connector has been a staple. However, with the USB-C compatible iPhone 15, Apple appears to be throwing its weight behind USB-C, signaling a clear preference for this more advanced connection in future devices.

Are fast chargers bad for your phone?

Fast charging itself is not a bad thing at all, but there are a few circumstances where using a fast charger can be detrimental to the battery life of your beloved devices. Fast charging is fantastic because of the obvious – you don’t have to wait long for your devices to charge. However, this can lead to users not unplugging their devices as soon as they’ve reached 100%, but rather forgetting and leaving their phone or other tech to overcharge. Leaving your devices to charge when they’re already full will negatively affect the overall battery life.

Charging your phone to 100% multiple times per day can also be damaging to the overall battery life, especially with fast charging too.

Managing the heat of your devices is important too, and fast chargers can impact this too. Typically, fast charging requires more power, and more power is going to output more heat. The hotter your device gets, the higher chance there is that the overall battery life will deplete.

Can I use a fast charger with any phone?

Yes, you can use a higher voltage charger than what your smartphone or device specifies. You just won’t get those fast-charging benefits. Your device will only use the voltage that it can take from a charger. There’s no reason for safety concerns when using a higher voltage charger, you won’t overload your battery, nor will you need to worry about the integrity of your device or the charger suffering.

What does MagSafe mean?

The term MagSafe covers the magnetically safe iPhone chargers. iPhone models produced after 2020 all have a magnetic back, which can be paired with a magnetic charger. Other apple devices support MagSafe charging too such as AirPods and Apple Smart Watches. MagSafe charging is faster than standard cable charging, it’s also far safer and more sustainable too. Anker are leaders in super-fast MagSafe charging, they have entire ranges dedicated to magnetic charging.

Apple may have spearheaded the MagSafe charging, but that doesn't mean you can't find magnetic chargers for android too. They may not be as popular as Apple's MagSafe tech, but you can certainly find quality third-party magnetic charging accessories for android smartphones.
