Although we're not sure that we're emotionally prepared for this year's John Lewis & Partners advert, one thing we're eager to find out about is the best toys for Christmas.
Lucky for us, the wait is over as John Lewis has already announced its predictions for the top ten toys this festive season. But this year, with a big twist - John Lewis enlisted a panel of tiny toy testers to help select and approve the final top ten toys for Christmas.
That's right, wrapping paper and Michael Bublé at the ready (it doesn't matter that it's only the middle of summer) as we reveal what's on the expert panel of tiny testers 'predicted' Christmas list.

The Scalextric was a firm favourite with toy testers Daisy and Charlie. Daisy, age nine, said, "The Scalextric was my favourite game. I think it would be fun to play with my mum and dad and try to beat them! It’s definitely going on my Christmas list this year."
Unfortunately, these toys aren't available right now but are in-store and online at John Lewis from the end of September. Until then, keep reading to discover our top picks of the best John Lewis toys.
But first, what did the grown up experts think?
Rachael Larkman, Toy Buyer at John Lewis said, "This year we’ve seen a huge surge in the popularity of traditional toys and games that can be enjoyed by the whole family for example sales of construction toys and puzzles such as Lego have risen 50 per cent in the last 12 months, and we predict this trend will continue for Christmas 2021."
Rachael goes on to add, "The selection of top toys chosen by our panel of toy testers, includes toys suitable for all ages. From ‘my first’ toys to the exclusive Scalextric which we are predicting to be the toy of the season, there’s a great variety that will guarantee excitement on Christmas day."
