But what are wax melts?

Made famous by the one and only Mrs Hinch, wax melts are a cost-effective yet superior alternative to your standard scented candle.

They are essentially scented, wick-less candles that you melt in a special burner, releasing amazing scents that leave your home smelling glorious for hours on end.

Why are they so popular?

Wax melts are up to six times more cost-effective than your typical scented candle, and can burn anywhere from a few hours to over 20 hours. They come in an array of different scents, from your typical fresh linen and vanilla, to your favourite perfume or even your favourite washing detergent (I have a Comfort smelling one - delish).

You can buy some really pretty looking burners, so in addition to the fabulous scents, they are aesthetically pleasing too. The melts themselves come as bars, cubes and cute novelty shapes such as hearts and shells, making them fun to use as well as perfect for a gift.

They are environmentally friendly, not releasing any smoke, and as they don’t have a wick they don’t produce soot, leaving the air cleaner.

Wax melts are also great for masking those unwanted household smells, such as pet odours, cooking, or in my case, dirty nappies.

With so many choices on the market and different scents to choose from, it’s no wonder they are increasing in popularity. But are they here to stay? I for sure think so. Am I addicted? 100% yes!

Here are some of the best wax melts we could find. So what are you waiting for? Get melting!
