The ability to work from home is a real privilege. However, while precariously balancing a laptop on the arm of your sofa or sitting at the kitchen table is fine for a day or two, if you find yourself working from home more regularly, then you need a desk.
There are two reasons to get yourself set up with a desk at home. The first is that they’re key to helping you maintain the correct posture and comfortable ergonomic position in relation to your device, be it laptop or desktop PC. (This is especially true if you also invest in an office chair.)

The second reason is that a desk creates a dedicated space to work – a contained area that you know is for work, and work only. This is recognised as a key tool when maintaining a healthy work-life mentality in the home. Having a set area to work can really help you separate home life and work life, allowing you switch off at the end of the day and relax.
Plus, it’s a space where you can happily store all of your work paraphernalia (laptops, computers, desk lamp, files, forms, smart printers, phones and stationary) without worry. You don’t need to scoop it all up at the end of the day to make space for the family meal, or to move and find another room to work in while the TV is being watched. It’s a space for you, and you only.
Whatever space you have, whatever set up you need, there’s desk out there for you. You’re going to be able to choose from designs that incorporate storage for all of your working from home equipment, for small spaces, corners or dedicated office areas. All of this, and they are really affordable – so, great all round!
