  • Customer review: "The Sevenhills ashwagandha is a good size pack and lasted a while. I bought this to use in a Nootropic stack for help against anxiety which helped a lot. If you get pills you'd be taking lots to get the benefits. I use two heaped (and I mean heaped) teaspoons in lemon water or orange juice. Like any herb if you want it to work all the time and stop the body adapting to it you must cycle the dosage. I take it for four days in a row then have three days off for a few weeks at a time. If I feel good then I stop until its needed again. This is blended as its hard to mix."

Potency:1200mg
  • Customer review: "Genuinely these WeightWorld Gummies were a shot in the dark having come off my anti depressants a year ago. But wow they worked, all my over thinking based anxiety was gone/massively reduced after 3 days. This could be a placebo but if it is I don’t care, it worked for me. Although these gave me a bit of nausea after a week and a stinking headache for about 3 days that all cleared up after I moved taking them to just before bed. Now I take on in the morning and one just before bed. Honestly I’m my old self again, long may it last.

"If your on the fence, give them a go for a couple of weeks and see if they work for you or not. As I said I was super sceptic about the benefits. I guess with anything holistic your mileage may vary, but for the reward of pretty much zero anxiety it’s worth a bash!

"Plus they taste half decent and are just like taking a chewy multivitamin. Decent size bottle too for the price. I took them into my GP as well and she looked over them and said they seem to be decent quality and correctly regulated for use in the UK."

The best ashwagandha: FAQs

Is ashwagandha safe?

Our bodies are our temples, so if you're worried about whether taking ashwagandha is safe, Jaspreet is here to assure you that the herb is relatively safe for the vast majority of people.

"Discussing the benefits of Ashwagandha with an Ayurvedic Doctor in India enlightened me with the benefits of a daily dose of this supplement. However, as with all Ayurvedic treatments, it is recommended that you continue for a maximum of three months and then stop. You then should restart taking it again after approximately a month of not taking it. The reason for this is to assess whether it’s actually doing anything for you. It’s only when you stop taking it can you feel the difference."

What strength ashwagandha is best?

The ideal strength of ashwagandha can vary depending on an individual's specific needs and tolerance. Jaspreet suggests: "Some studies have researched doses of Ashwagandha up to 5000 mg per day. But, this is a very high dose. In both Ayurveda &  the Western world, the most commonly produced supplement of Ashwagandha is 600 mg daily. If you feel that you need a higher dose, there shouldn't be any reason why you couldn’t go to 1200mg daily."

What are the alternatives to ashwagandha?

If ashwagandha doesn't sound like your thing, there are several natural alternatives.

Rhodiola rosea: This is another adaptogenic herb known for its stress-reducing properties and energy-boosting effects. So in terms of adaptogenic support, this herb could be a good substitute for ashwagandha.

Holy basil (Tulsi): Holy basil, or Tulsi, is a herb that's also effective in reducing stress and promoting relaxation.

Maca root: Maca is a Peruvian superfood known for its ability to boost energy levels and balance hormones. It's often used as an alternative for enhancing vitality and stamina.

Ginseng: Ginseng has been used for centuries to improve physical and mental energy and clear brain fog. Ginseng is also an adaptogen that can help combat stress.
