These are not so good for the weekday commute but are great fun for tackling trails at the weekend and give you a fresh riding experience from a mountain bike. It's not just a commuter scooter with knobbly tyres. The tyres are pneumatic, the handlebars are made from a super-strong chrome alloy chromoly, and the rear brake is made from stainless steel. Dirt, grass, jumps, take your pick. Maximum rider weight is 100kgs.

The solid 7.8-inch front and 6.5-inch rear wheels won't give the same levels of grip or comfort as the scooters with air-filled tyres, but with the SO1 there is no risk of a puncture. The range is not too bad at 7.5 miles and the 12.5mph top speed is safe yet enjoyable.
