A huge petrolhead, Ryan enjoys driving, tinkering and cleaning his car in his spare time. When he can peel himself away from his car, you’ll find him cooking or attempting HIIT at the gym.
Writing
A big fan of the written word, Ryan spent his childhood absorbing any car magazine he could get is hands on. This interest in car reviews led him to complete an MA in Automotive Journalism from Coventry University, graduating with a Distinction in 2020. While his was a student he wrote automotive content for DriveTribe and Hot Cars, focusing on classic cars and sim racing content. With car magazines such a pivotal memory in his life, a chance to work for CAR and Parkers was an immediate yes.
Cars
Cars played a pivotal role in Ryan's life right from the start. His grandfather worked in the car industry and he vividly remembers racing his Hot Wheels at any given opportunity.
It’s this love of cars that has now expanded into the world of automotive detailing and cleaning in general. Never afraid to roll up his sleeves and get busy cleaning a car, he'll often be found testing the latest cleaning products to see if they're worth your time and money.
Tech
Despite an obvious love of analogue sports cars, Ryan is very interested in technology and enjoys nothing more than immersing himself in the latest and greatest kitchen gadgets
Like any child of the noughties, Ryan also enjoyed gaming growing up. First discovering the world of Simpsons Hit and Run and Gran Turismo 4, Ryan spent his childhood mucking around in virtual cars, a fitting head start for his current role.
Even now Ryan enjoys the odd race on the latest Forza, or enjoying the vast world of Grand Theft Auto 5.

Ryan’s top buying tips for readers are:
“The ‘buy it for life’ mentality is by far the most sustainable and cost-effective way to shop. Don’t be afraid to spend a little more on a product that’s built to a higher standard. That being said, don’t take manufacturer’s claims at face value, read product reviews.”
"Just because it's shiny and new doesn't mean it'll have the same class-leading attributes of tried-and-tested models. Sometimes you cannot beat icons, even if they don't have the bells and whistles of newer stuff. Innovation for innovation sake often just leads to problems."
